I have a philips 30" HDTV monitor and a recently installed dish 811 receiver. I have both the DVI from the receiver hooked to my HDMI port on my tv, and the YPbPr component connectors connected to my HDTV.

My TV supports 1080i; triple checked that.

My problem is that when I select 1080i on the receiver, and watch it through the DVI cable, I get a fairly noticible humming through the televisions speakers, even with the audio disconnected.

If I watch through the YPbPr, no buzz.

If I select 480 and watch through the dvi cable, no buzz.

Are there any known issues with the 811 receiver with 1080i through the DVI cable?

Thanks in advance!

Isn't this a E* receiver and not D* ? Can a mod please move this to the Dish forum so this user can get a fast answer.

In the meantime, have you tried another DVI cable? Maybe one with higher quality shielding? If so, does it happen also?

My apologies x1000 guys. I was half asleep when I found this forum and registered, and my sleepiness caused me to post in the wrong forum. Again, I'm sorry; I'll post over in the correct one.
