Dish 811 with Pioneer DVD recorder

Has anybody tried the combo of a Pioneer DVD recorder with the 811? If so, does the "Autostart" record feature work? I'm asking because I read on another forum that somebody had trouble with this because the Dish box (not the 811) kept it's S-video output active even when off, which confused the Pioneer when it was set to use "autostart ".

I'm curious about this too, I'm interested in the Pioneer DVR-520HS and would like it if I didn't need to rely on the IR blaster.
