DISH and 4K

The only way there will be wide acceptance of 4k tvs is that Number one, there are no other tvs for sale, but 4k tvs and two, they have to come down on the prices ,so they are similar to today's hd tv prices. I don't see any channels in 4k unless, there is a channel out there that wants to experiment and spend lot of money on shows, in hopes that it will catch on with the audience. Until the common man gets some raises in pay out there, not many will be spending on 4k tvs.

Look at what seems to have happened to 3D TV. All the promised 3D programming never materialized.

How date you say that! There is plenty of 3D stuff available - ask 2-3 of the members here.

So will Free HD for life customers get grandfathered into Free 4k for life? I'll need to know for when I get a 4k TV in 7 years.

True, they did try to kickstart 3D and look how that turned out for them. I don't see them being so bold this time,unless there is some demand first.
