I've noticed that when I stream Dish Anywhere from my Hopper 3 to my laptop or Iphone over my home network, it doesn't use any of my internet plan data. I'm considering purchasing a Fire stick. If I use Dish Anywhere on the Amazon Fire Stick, would it work the same way? In other words, is it streaming locally on my network?

Yes , I think it would use your network at home. You have to use a wifi network in your house to stream it to that tv it is connected to. That's how I have my 2 fire sticks hooked up.

That's what I was hoping; that the Fire Stick is retrieving the video locally and not downloading the remote stream over the internet (like it does outside your home network)
