How much more gain will a 33" dish give over an 18" dish?

I'm seeing a level of 40 (out of 125), and need to get about 70 or greater to get a lock.

Thanks for the info. 5 dBi is pretty good.

I'm trying to pull in Detroit on on spot 13 on transponder 26 on E10 at 110.

Before it moved to E10, it was coming at at 70 to 80. The spots are narrower now on E10.

Where are you trying this at? if your outside of the Detroit DMA then your gonna have a hard time.

It's outside now. On E8, I was OK, now on E10, I'm out.

I'm going to have move into my own locals now, but prefer Detroit.

A 90 cm dish is about 39.34 dB

An 80 cm dish is about 38.24

So not much difference.

I've got a 1.2 meter dish that's still in the box. Thought I was gonna make Hawaii my home, but got island fever! Do you know what the gain on the 1.2 meter is, and is it significant compared to the 90 cm?
