Dish HD locals?

Are dishes hd locals broadcast 24/7 in hd are only when a show is presented in hd? like is it upconverting all shows?

No area is presenting HD 24/7. E*'s LiL HD locals upconvert sd programs when not in HD, just like OTA's do.

No on my OTA locals I get black bars on the sides. Will that still happen on dishes local hds?

the same thing.

dish is retransmitting the OTA signal, it's exactly the same.
