I have recently come across a used 1000.4 dish that a friend doesn't need anymore, he is shipping it to me. I am going to replace my 1000.2 and Dish 500 that I have set up to pull in my locals on 61.5. Right now, my 1000.2 is mounted on my house, and my 500 is mounted in the yard on a pole. I would rather stay in the yard, and I think I have line of sight to do so, but I am not sure if the 1000.4 will mount on the same pole as the 500. Does anyone know if I can, or will I need an adapter? Thank you.

When I was setting 1k4's on poles, I always cut the pole shorter because it's larger and I've seen the wind fold them over. Shortening it up a little will also give you the extra cable you need for the longer arm on the 1k4 if you don't have a nice service loop on the 500.

Speaking of which, HIFI, I still remember a job I did in Solomon where I used my last scrap of pole for a 500 and it was only 8" out of the ground, way out in the front yard in the middle of town. I hope it's still up.
