I think Dish needs to streamline its video-on-demand and IPTV. Here's what they currently have scattered around:

Movies on Demand via DishHome (aka Movies & More)
TV Entertainment
DishOnline:
--Dish Theatre
--TV Entertainment
VOD movies on channel(s) 501
(oh yeah, and Starz on Demand, almost forgot that one)

Can't they unify all of this and while they are at it give us more "compelling" content? It's a big mess, and there really isn't much worth watching at the moment, except some Olympics stuff. They really should look at what the cable companies and D* are doing. Any thoughts?

Yes, it's a huge confusing mess. But personally, I wish they'd dump it all.

Dish On Demand and 501 channels are the same thing.

I kind of agree with you. But DishOnline isn't available to everyone (or rather, some of us can't use it due to bandwidth restrictions.) It would be MORE confusing to me (and especially my wife) if I had to pick through a unified list and say "Well, we can watch this one but not that one." HOWEVER, I could see putting EVERYTHING else into the DishOnline application. So that could be one stop shopping, I guess.

What they really need is a decent application for the "TV Entertainment", and to put some more stuff in it.

Who's buying $4.99 SD-VOD or $2.99 movies that are 25 years old anyway?
