Okay here's the story. I've had this PVR now for about 5 months without problems. Here's the issue. Yesterday I had 99 events on it when I went to bed.
Today I wake up and see that the number of events has been reduced to 53. Basically, it deleted some of the events (in a random fashion, i.e. it deleted some stuff I recorded yesterday, 2 months ago etc...) even though some were protected.
Is there anyway to recover the material without opening up the DVR (turning it off and on etc...) and should I just return the unit to DISH Network and get another one?
BTW, this is my 3rd DVR. My first died after 7 months of flawless performance (hard drive crash), my 2nd one died after 2 weeks (another hard drive crash).
