That's odd. With ER this morning, it also looked like the variable stretch/zoom seen on better TV's, instead of the "fireplug" effect seen on ESPN's 16x9 stretch.

Plus, it's nice to watch lowly SD without the horrible over-compression on Dish's SD channels. It's like the good old days, when Dish's SD channels actually looked great.
Yeah - I'm with ya about the compression. I'm watching a peoplepc commercial and can now see the variable stretch. Still don't like it. Seems like every time I tune it it's a commercial break.
 
I don't like any stretch, but this variable is really wierd looking when a person crosses the screen going from fat to normal back to fat looking.
They should show 4x3 as 4x3. OAR is always best.

Anyone know an address (email) to complain to?
