Dish Network Celebrates 10th Anniversary

May of '97 for us. Started with a 6' Dish 300 at 119 and an 8 way switch running 5 Model 1000's and one Model 3000. Later replaced one 1000 with a 501. Still later, replaced another 1000 with an 811 and additional 30" Dish 300 at 148. All equipment personally owned and installed. Just recently opened a commercial acount containing 4 of the Model 1000's, making 7 receivers total connected. I have a brand new 211 waiting in the box for E*'s decision on HD distant locals for Alaska.:)

We signed up 12/3/2004. :)

Hope they're around in another 10 years and not eaten up by some gigantic corporate conglomerate!

I started with E* in 10/98 with a Dish 300 and 1000 receiver which I purchased off E-Bay for around $80. I later upgraded to the Dish 500 and now the SD105. Currently using 3 - 301's and a 3800. I still have the 1000 as a keepsake. I agree that self-installs are the most satisfying!

I started back in 1999 (probably april or so) with 2 7100's.

Now have 2 721's and a 622.

Had some 501's for a while as well :)

Jan 2000 for me, a model 2700 with the smart card door and a 3700(I believe).

July 1996, Dish 2000 IR receiver for $699 and 1 free year of AT40. I did the installation myself (as I've done with the rest of my system since then). The first night I had the 2000 and the Dish300 set up in the back yard in an open spot in the trees and A/B between CNN on cable and Dish. Cable = snow; Dish = crystal clear. I cancelled cable right after I activated with Dish and have not looked back.
