It is more than making money off of the additional content but by bringing customers because of the content that you have whether you make money off of that additional content or not. The additional content is currently locals and HD and in the future will be broadband once again for Dish Network as they would probably have a bundling with their tv service where DirecTv doesn't to my knowledge. I know that StarBand and Dish used to offer a discount (I think $10) but dont know if they do anymore since they ''split''.
