DISH NETWORK STATEMENT REGARDING THE NATIONAL BROADBAND PLAN

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – March 16, 2010 – DISH Network L.L.C., a subsidiary of DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH), issued the following statement regarding the National Broadband Plan:

“DISH Network congratulates Chairman Genachowski on releasing a bold National Broadband Plan. We are pleased that the National Broadband Plan recognizes that wireline facilities are not the most economic or efficient means of serving our country’s most remote communities, and that satellite broadband has an important role to play.”

hence charlie may be wanting to drop wildblue and invest in his own system with all the free money fcc will give away for this?

Part of the plan is to use (some) existing TV station frequencies for broadband deployment

I wonder what Dish is going to do with its spectrum it purchased and when they plan on using it.
