any hope in reviving the hard drive? i've tried the basics of power off and unplugging the receiver

For both the 522/625 and 622 DVRs, error "041" (no "c" listed) means the max # of timers has been reached. Nothing to do with the hard drive.... On the 721 and 942, it means the same. Hey, at least Dish is consistent !

Don't rush with a conclusion - it could be 041C, ie HDD problem.
