Would like some info on the Dishpro plus twin lnb, at present I have an old
legacy 2700 receiver but plan on upgrading to the 811, I understand that
both will run on the dishpro, will the 2700 function alone on this lnb without
the 811 connected.?

According to the readme, if you are hooking up a Legacy receiver you must hook up a second receiver to power the LNBF. If the second receiver is also a legacy then the LNB IN port can not be used.

So the simple answer is no you can not hook up the 2700 by itself to the LNB.

The DPPTwin takes a higher voltage to power it up than the legacy rcvr alone supplies, two rcvrs make up for the loss.

Actually, that's half true - the half of the time that the legacy receiver wants odd (13V) transponders. ;)

If you always had one legacy receiver on even transponders, or added an 18V power inserter on the unused output port, it just might work.

Interesting experiment if anyone cares to try it.
