I have a dish mounted in a location that is all but impossible to get to in inclimate weather, heavy snow. I was wondering would it be at all possible to use an electrical hot water tape mounted on the back side of the dish to melt the snow that has built up on the front side of the dish? Would the electrical current in the tape interfe with the signal in any way? I would only need to have it turned on long enough to melt any snow buildup on the dish. I had tried a cover in years past but that didn't work to well.
What are your thoughts.

There are quite a few items on the market that already do what you are looking for - some get their power from the coax. Just google something like satellite dish ice melter. Hope that helps
