Dish remote 40.0 question

Is there a way to have the dish remote learn the commands from a roku 4 remote? My sons dish remote controls his roku 2 but ours wont learn the roku 4 commands

Have you got the WI-FI direct voice remote, if you do that's the problem. Your son has a IR remote......

Roku 4 comes with the voice search remote. I guess we can live with a second remote

Newer Roku units use WiFi for their remote commands, do they not ?
