Dish Remote and Apple TV

Is it possible to pair Dish remote 54.1 with Apple TV 4th generation, I think - the one with the touchpad. I have tried to pair through the Dish settings with no luck and also through Apple TV settings and still no luck. I was just wondering if I am missing something.

While the AppleTV is bluetooth, it responds to IR remotes like my Harmony 700. The 54.1 remote is RF but also sends IR to other than DISH devices, like my Denon AVR and my Vizio TV. So, the question still stands.

If you can get your hands on an IR remote for the Apple TV, you can teach the 54.1 the commands.
