Dish vs ATT U-verse

I've been thinking about installing Boxee on my 17" MBP in order to stream Netflix to my 1080p TV via DVI. What is the PQ like?

I think the PQ is mainly dependant on your bandwidth.

I'd say it's between the quality of analog and DISH's highly compressed HD. Actually, I bet you could get a picture as good as Dish's highly compressed HD with a decent internet pipe.

For open source software, it's an amazingly easy install. Definitely give it a shot. It's a fun little app.

I went with the Windows version and installed it on a spare PC I have lying around. 3 megabits of bandwidth (or thereabouts) so I have no problems in that department. Streaming from Netflix it is just as you predicted... somewhere between SD and dish HD... not great, but definitely a good way to get a video without waiting on the USPS! My wife is THRILLED, as she could care less about PQ but is addicted to movies and to Netflix.

I'll try to get her into Hulu, as well.
