Pretty much, but I don't know the man..
After reading the article it may not be a dick move though?
It is, Charlie is lying about the whole timing thing. He's trying to bluff his way to shut down competition, and get the frequencies himself. Then he'll likely do nothing with them, meanwhile everybody that wants to use Skylink is screwed.

i need starlink. im signed up to eventually get it. im in one of the rural areas they are targeting. my current isp is just awful. i hope starlink wins this.

im less than a mile from brand new fiber lines. might as well be a million miles away :-(

Maybe Charlie will sell Dish to Musk one day along with DirecTV (if Dish and DTV merge), they can all go IPTV via Starlink Satellite route.

That is a pretty sleazy insult aimed at a true renaissance man who works hard for betterment of humanity and doesn't do it for money. Do a bit of research before throwing insults around.
Like his stock and crypto manipulation maneuvers? Yes the guy financed a car company from scratch, which is absurdly difficult effectively impossible, but he isn't a "renaissance man". Nor has he worked too hard for "betterment of humanity".

What is Elon Musk's net worth as of today?

The 10 richest people in the world added a combined $402 billion to their fortunes in 2021, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with Musk's $277 billion net worth by far the largest fortune. Musk's closest competitor, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, will enter 2022 worth $190 billion.Jan 3, 2022

Musk has never taken a salary from Tesla or any of his other companies. He has not sold any stock in Tesla except to pay Federal and California 53% income and payroll taxes on exercising stock options this year. He lives the life closer to a pauper than his billionaire rivals. Hi massive net worth is entirely in stock and share in his companies. While criticizing him for the "net worth" of over 200 billion that he has gained from the success of Tesla, a great deal his doing. you forget the 800 billion or so that he has earned for fellow investors and employees in Tesla. I'm sick of the grossly uninformed criticism, much of which is generated by a media that hates him for not spending a dime on advertising.

Betterment of humanity? Name anyone who has invested all of their own money to electrify the auto industry, developed artificial intelligence based self-driving in beta today plus robotics using the world's largest AI supercomputer, to expand solar energy, to develop massive grid storage to smooth solar and to cover peak demand without starting backup fossil-based generation, to deploy high speed internet to any location on Earth, to drive the cost of orbital lift down by reusable boosters (110 successful recoveries to date), to give the US the ability to man and supply the Space Station, to contract NASA to deliver astronauts to the moon in Starships that can carry 100, embarked on a long term plan to deliver civilization to Mars, and to develop computer communication with the brain with the goal of solving paralyzed patients ability to walk.

Go ahead and keep up the nonsense.

This is unrelated to Dish but needed to be said.

Pat, I think you are taking altogether too much umbrage at the "dick" comment. IMHO Musk is not only one of the most innovative entrepreneurs of all time, but he is also a dick for a few of the things that he has done. Both are true IMHO.
