Dish wont let me have my 2nd hopper3/sling on my Account (1 Viewer)

I am angry with Dish Support. They told me I could have a second hopper on my account as long as it was purchased. Great. I did that. Now when I go to activate it well they tell me sorry no can do!! All my arguing left me nowhere and as I had the installer already finished and waiting for activation my only choice at the time was to open another pay as you go account to get it up and running. Here is what I have at home: One hopper w sling, one super joey, two joeys. In the RV I have one hopper3 w sling and two wireless joeys with one wireless access point. Well they accidentally activated the hopper 3 in the RV on my home account so I know thats not a problem, but the wireless joey's would not link. They realized the hopper3 was on the home account and when switched it to the other account joey's linked fine. I have to call them back as I cannot keep two accounts and need to get this fixed and back on one account. Does anyone have any good sources I can contact to get this done? I don't understand why I can't have two hoppers on the same account. Got to be something I can do!! Thanks for any help everyone.

The Hopper 3 is an isolated situation (technically) and will not co-exist with a HWS or Super Joey. Whoever you talked to must have assumed you were adding another H3, which you CAN if purchased. Sorry that you were not aware of that. If you do not want two accounts, you need to either, (1) get rid of the H3 or (2) get rid of the HWS and Super Joey. If you stick with H3 (you most definitely should), you can add a Wally for your RV to the same account. I see that you are new here to the forum. WELCOME! It always pays to ask here, before you pay elsewhere!

Why did you give them the satisfaction of even opening a new secondary account ?

I would have cancelled it all right then and there.

So dumb not allowing multiple hoppers or in Directv’s case genies

There are a lot of people on this forum with multiple Hoppers including multiple Hopper 3's. It just has to be done right. Sounds like the Super Joey is most of the problem on this one.

As Bobby said, you do not want older Joey 1 with H3 (too slow). You would want Joey 3s.

Just got off the phone with Dish support. Very good conversation with a gentleman who after consultation we came up with a solution which some of you probably already know about. We are going to upgrade my home system from the hopper/sling and super joey with two joey1s to the hopper 3 and joey 3's while eliminating the super joey. This will allow me after tech installation to bring my purchased hopper 3 in the RV as well as the two wireless Joey's back over to the home account and activated there. It was the old hopper w sling and super joey that is not compatible with the hopper 3 on the same system. So making that change they tell me will get me where I want to be on the one account. Fingers crossed!!!

So glad it appears it worked out. This was not your fault the CSR from the begining should have looked at what equipment you have and made sure what you asked about was possible.

Awesome. Dish doesn’t deserve to get a second account from you.

But still dumb on their part. As far as I’m concerned if you can figure out how to make it work, they should activate it.

you gotta watch CSR'S very closely there like toddlers:biggrin and if you don't they will have you all f**ked up so that no one knows what in the hell is going on:coco
