Morning...

I have a 222k and 722k that I am trying to DishCOMM together. However neither are being seen by the other, and even themselves both have a LOW quality strength.

I do not have them plugged into surge protectors, but due to proximity, they are plugged into extension cords.

One of the units, the 222k, is in the part of the house that still has aluminum wiring.

Any ideas..?

I am interested in the homeplug stuff, but haven't installed it yet. Based on what I have read I seem to remember that indeed there is an issue with non copper wiring. Dunno for sure.

try running a extension cord between the 2 units, if they now talk ok together its probably your alunimum wiring. or fluroscent lamps, or other noise makers on the line. my 722s dishcom didnt like my aquariums aqua clear pump.

i had troubles getting 2 722s to see one another even though a neigbors was easily found.

but that ended fast, when the power company split our street into many different transformers rom just one..

you probably better off to run ethernet to both.......

no dishcom needed
