I'm looking to set up a TV at a tailgate but don't have DishNetwork at home (not enough foresight!). So I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to what type of service would best fit my needs. I'm only planning on using the TV on the weekends for 3 months. Does anybody have any info that may help me when I talk to DishNetwork? Thanks!

You could get a pre-paid account where you buy a receiver and then purchase service time as you need it. That way you don't have to sign a contract and only have to pay for service when you want it.

Is that through DishNetwork? Do I have to buy the receiver through them or can I just get the prepaid account through them. That is exactly what I am looking for but have had issues in talking to them to try and let me do something like that. Any more information would be awesome... this is the last piece of the tailgate puzzle I'm trying to put together!

i would buy the hardware , set up an account and simply suspend service while not in use, there is a five dollar fee to re activate service, pre- paid is a hassle and may not be around for long ( note :*Card only applies to this promotion, is not refundable, returnable or exchangeable, and has no cash value. Good for $30 or $40 in payments for eligible programming selected. ) does this mean you need to buy 2 $40.00 cards for one month of the classic silver package ?

That is exactly what I did. The promotion isn't sold by Dish Network anymore and retail stores (Radio Shack) is supposedly not selling them anymore. So they walked me through this plan and it fits my needs the best. Essentially after paying for the equipment (free but they still charge a $149 activation fee) it costs me about seven bucks per game to watch tv ($5 to reactivate it and $1+ for service for that day).
