After an install or a repair has anyone ever received a return visit for a quality check on the work performed by Dish Network?

No. If it is working well after install, there would be no need. Besides, techs don't get paid well enough for the original install, let alone a check up.

Dish Network Service Centers have quality control guys who go around all day long checking the work of the installers from their office. They compile reports complete with digital photos of the job and the signal strength on the set up screen.

yeah, if it was DNS or one of their contractors, they send Quality Assurance guys around to look over the installs...

Sadly that is how it works sometimes, but not all the time with QC's

What are you talking about? That's called a QAS. The person who comes out to inspect the job is a Quality Assurance Specialist. They come out and grade the job, and pass or fail the technician's work.

What bothers me is that the QC guy came around taking pictures while I wasn't there, otherwise I would have told him/her that the installer did NOT route or secure the wires, did NOT install the ground wires, did NOT screw the switch permanently on, I did all that the day after, and I hate it that the install company got a good review because I'm the one that did all the cleanup.

I had QC come out after I changed my 625 to a 722, now I have a 622 and a 722. He sent the contractor out to change my LNB's because of the LNB drift. He also had them change the barrel connectors and the cable from the wall to the receivers. While they were here, they made it vey clear how they felt about QC. They said that they have never worked a day in the field and really did not know anything but how to work a remote. The QC then came back out to check on what they repaired and again did not like the way things looked. He said my signal strength was worse than before and they did not change one of the cables. He said someone would be out again, but after a week I have not heard a thing. Is there a way to check if someone will still be coming? Do the contractors always feel that way about having to come back out after the checks?

QAS's are only used directly for DNS rolls. Subcontractor work and general retail work can also have QAS people on them for different reasons, but it's not as common. Most of the time they're running around to make sure everyone is using DISH approved parts on their rolls. They also go out in cases of reported damage to a home or to check for some issues of fraud/stacking.

Hate to break it to you, but I am DNS. Our QASs have always and continue to QAS subcontractors. They are held to the same standards we are. I've rolled out with the QASs and watched them QAS subcontractor jobs. They QAS them for the same reason and with the same frequency they QAS our jobs. When I was a subcontractor, I was QASed multiple times on jobs I was given from DNS, but not retailer jobs.
