Dp 508 DVR

Hey guys got my 508 up on my flex account no problem, i liked the seller i bought it off of on ebay .So i went ahead and purchased another 508 for the upstairs den but after i orderd he sent me an email with the ROO number and called dish as before but they said it was still ACTIVE i never heard of this before so what can i do about it? thanks

Plug it in and watch the free programming if it is still "active", more than likely it won't be active.

Update hooked it up and actvated it, and it wouldn't read the purple smartcards it had S000000-00-00 where the smartcard number should be in system info. tech said it needed an update but when it would go to find the satilites it would freeze on progress 0 out of 5 and would change no matter what so i called and there sending a new 508 to replace since i subscribe to dish protection plan.It all worked out for the best.Thanks
