Sorry, I have a FTA receiver yet, what do I need to get FTA signal with my Directv Dish

A DirecTV LNBF will only pick up circular signals, from subscription services, and therefore is useless for 99 percent of the free channels up there. Also, for most FTA, you will need a dish that is at least 30" in diameter to get an acceptable signal.

While I agree with Tron's post above, there is that 1% chance you have a rare dish that could be used.

What DIRECTV dish antenna type do I have? Phase I, Phase II, Phase II+, Phase III, ....
Also what receiver are you trying to use?
What sort of FTA programming are you looking for?
