I thought those settings were only for locals you received from a separate antenna, that the 622 sent a 1080i signal for everything through the dish.

Is there a way to actually set the 622 to use 720p vs. 1080i?

I have a TV which is 720p (although will convert 1080i signals), so if it is possible to set the 622 to provide a 720p signal, I'd like to.

Thanks.

Yes - On the remote: press Menu - System Setup (6) - HDTV Set up (8). Use that screen to make your selections. (This is on page 100 in your User's Guide.)

Ok, I did do that originally.

The folks at Dishnetwork told me that only controled what was coming through my antenna that I hooked into my 622 though. That's not true?

The "offair" choice threw me off...that's speaking of both the dish and the antenna?

Welcome to our long running , ever popular show: CSR ROULETTE!

Yes, it's all output. Hopefully we will soon have native pass thru also.

Not at home, can't address that question now- I don't remember the screen exactly. But I expect that the choice is off air vs cable, so off air it would be- but the ViP622 only picks up digital stations, so why the "analog" ???
