dumb Multisport Package question

I do feel kinda dumb asking this. Didn't realize until today that for 5.99 you can subscribe to the Multisport Package (MP) and get all the RSN's. If DISH ever provides RSNHD will that mean that those who subscribe to the MP will get all the HD on the various RSN that are outside the local areas. If so, thats a boatload of HD for just 5.99 per month!

The answer to the question "Will the HD RSNs be included in the Out of Market RSN package?" is NO ONE KNOWS!!!! Not even Dish! They may WANT to include them, but they are not available to anyone right now. They are uplinked because Dish WANTS to carry them but they do not have a contract.

As to the comment "That is a lot of HD for $5.99", I have to disagree.

Almost all the RSNs are part-time HD. The HD channels uplinked now share bandwidth right now!

Most of these channels only flick on the HD switch for the actual games. All the pro games and most of the college games of any consequence are blacked out to those outside the RSN's area. So, my guess it there would be next to NO HD content available even when the RSN HD channels are turned on.

I was just experimenting with it today and saw a mixed bag of MLB Preseason games (about 50% appear to be available). I'll keep it till I get an idea of what is available during the regular season. (For 5.99 I figured it was worth a try.)

I guarantee you that during the regular season you will only be able to see "your" games. There are a few locations that will allow you to see additional teams because you are in the team's area but not the RSN's area. But there aren't too many of these.

Yeah- nothing will be available outside your area during the season.

But, they allot 3 hours for a ballgame on the RSN's. If the game lasts longer, or goes into extra innings, you will see those games to the conclusion.
