Dumb question: Flex with just HBO?

I've posted before about getting free previews on Dish even without a package, which is great. But has anyone tried to sign up for HBO without a package?

(I don't think I've asked this before; apologies if I did and I'm losing my memory. And I'd just try for fun, but I'm still on 120+ right now.)

At a minimum you would need the welcome package, probably more...I am sure the experts will chime in...

You can't have just HBO on an account. System will kick it back out and require a core package along with it.

Used to be you could just pay $7 for no core package fee, but not any more...
