So last i looked it $12 for the locals channels, I been informed it now $14 which just stupid.

I was then told I need 2 thing by guy on phone to give h3 local channel from ota and dvr,

OTA and dish dual tuner adapter? he made said like I could just attach OTA to the h3, which can not. I actual need the adapter just to do this and refuse to sell this not that I really willin pay for it.

What exactly do i need be getting? all this moot if i can get cbs/nbc/abc/fox/ wb which i gont have to check. I actual suprised my dad has not cancled dish this seeing still complains about the price

just need this and an antenna. though some stations won't download guide data the smaller ones will. makes it harder for recording. the type of antenna you need varies on your location. you can goto antennaweb and see

i call Bullsh!t!!! if that was so true then they wouldn't be charging for em!!! what happened to the airwaves belonged to the public 🤔 nothing more than a money grab now
When you pay a satellite or cable provider for the OTA stations, you're not paying for the programming, you're paying for the delivery of the programming. OTA direct, there's no delivery expense involved under the license terms.

I have the 200 package with auto pay. So I tried to subscribe to see what my cost is. My monthly charge will be $12.00. So how did you get them for $9.00? The module works for me.
were getting $ 5.00 a month off the locals via the e autopay settings and paperless billing.. were new subs to that might have something to do with it. and that's for 24 months.. why is the monthly charge for you $ 12.00 and $ 14.00 for us with no discount

Well that itself is bull- at least substantially. Yeah, it costs chucky quite a bit to space-segment his big locals roundup, but the lion's share of his expenses going into his locals fees comes from extortion by the nets & their affils.

autopay is off even if was on they didnt want discount locals as I tried to get to locals discount and when they said no to that I made mention local will be drops when I get stuff needed.

Auto was always $5 off bill but now showing as it discounts locals, where as before was just generic $5 off

I did what John states years ago.
At the time, Dish would install an OTA antenna for free, and so I have one at the peak of my 2-story roof. I'm sure that one of those small HD window antennas will work. The coax cable from it will screw into the dongle that John posted, and that dongle will plug in to your Hopper's usb port.
Go into settings, OTA, and scan away. You will find a ton of channels that you didn't know existed. For example, I have 8 or 10 channel 6's. Some won't display a guide, but you'll get used to it. I found COZI Tv, for example, that shows reruns of old 80s and 90s shows like Frasier, Cheers, and others.
And yes, you can record them.

So, then the hopper will put all of those subchannels into the guide?
Yes it will. But as stated earlier not all of them display the program for the period. Many if not most will. Those that display programming can set recordings and you can do trick modes and skip commercials using the skip forward as well.

And, like, the 722 can't do this? Even though it can do offair (?)
