I am using an 811 to receive the AT60 from E*. I dropped the hd package (cost versus content) and took my ota channels off of the 811 (daily BSOD). My question is should I keep the DVI connection from the 811 to my 51S700 Hitachi active, or switch to component, composite or even s-video for the SD content I get from E*?

depends on the TV. Assuming this is still on your HD set, I would *probably* use s-video. I wouldn't let the 811's scaler do anything, as most TV's have better scalers for non-HD content.

Honestly, your best bet is to just try each and stick with what you like best.

I haven't had any OTA problems with my 811 and I love the HD I get that way, guess I'm lucky :)

I use s-video for sd on my 53 inch widescreen b/c the component makes the picture look terrible when its stretched. Its so pixilated its hardly watchable. S- video makes it watchable at least. Still doesnt seem to be as good as directv used to be
