DVI vs DISH wire

Does the loss of the Firewire/DISH wire affect the DVI output ? I'm setting up a new Sammy and plan on using the DVI input. I' m also going to order a new 6.1 receiver, anyone know of a receiver that will do DVI switching ? (all will need to work with the new color Pronto)
