Hopefully a simple question but say I have my dvr set up to record anytime it see the name "McCartney" in the title or description. As I go through my list and it finds a show I've already see, I tell it to skip it from the HD channel it found it on. Then it goes and adds the SD version of the show and I have to select skip for that. The it finds the show out on the same HD channel in the 9xxx series of channels, and I have to skip that.

Do I need to "hide" the SD channel and the 9xxx channel so it only finds it once and I only have to skip it once?

Thanks!

Skipping it will just skip that particular airing. It will still record that same show the next time it finds it, probably later that same day. You can change the timer to only record new shows, but that doesn't really sound like what you want.

Skipping it only skips it for that one channel...unfortunately it airs at the same time on three different channels. If it airs again later that day, I have to repeat the process over again. I'll lock out the SD and the duplicate HD channels.

Thanks for both of your quick responses!

Too bad it doesn't work the same way as recording a local channel. If I skip a program on, say, channel 12 it doesn't pick up the same program on the equivalent 8000 range channel.

This happens to me sometimes and I have all my shows set to record new ones only. It's real random and I hate it. Modern Marvels, The Universe and Cops on my local fox station are the worst about it. It is funny watching a cops episode from the late 80's.
