Efficient 2 meter Disguise Antenna Made From a TV Satellite Dish

What are your thoughts? I have a spare dish in the garage that I have thought about trying this out on. Maybe 70 cm instead.

There is another thread about this in the FTA section of this forum.
They work good for local stuff. Like if your buddy is only a few miles away on simplex or your local 440 repeater is close by or on a tall mountain or building.

Why does 440 suck? Perfect for DMR hotspots and line of sight applications. A ton of bandwidth, not much interference and not crowded.

440 far from sucks! I guess it depends on what you mean by suck. If you are going to make a blanket statement like that at least back it up with why.
That would be like someone with 10 kids saying a really nice sports car sucks......only because you can not fit 12 people in one.

If your looking to talk to Europe, yeah 440 kind of sucks for that, you might want to try a longer wave, you will get rewarded much quicker.
440 and even higher frequency bands have great uses. You just have to pick the right band for per application.

Well I like that statement 440 good for 60to 70miles being a Ham radio person I like too use 2&6 meters 73
