EHD Cost

I have an EHD that is on my 622 and I am thinking of getting another for the 722. Do I have to pay another $40 to activate the new one? Thanks

No . Once you pay for the external hard drive Archiving fee on your account , it covers all external hard drives. Now if you add the 211 or 211k receiver with an external hard drive , it is a separate $39.99 fee to turn your 211 into a dvr.

If you have two VIP211's do you have to pay the $39.99 twice to turn each 211 into a DVR?

No. There's a one-time enabling fee for all 211/211k's on your account, and another one-time fee for all 622/722s on your account. And you can't move EHDs from one class of receiver to another without the drive being formatted.
