I read somewhere that they will eventually integrate with prescription glasses.
It depends what they do. I see limited use in my daily life, but then who knows a killer app could come out that makes them my most needed tech gadget.
Would be very interested if they could get it down to a reasonable price. Every day that I watch my son grow and play and have to fumble with unlocking my phone and holding it a certain way so the cover doesn't obscure the camera I wonder when I'll finally just be able to wink or something to take a quick picture.
IMO, this could be a killer app for android if they get the integration with existing phones right

Maps/Navigation as an overlay with the ability to push it back down and pull it back up quickly. Say you're working around a construction area, and you need a quick reminder of an alternate route. Or a traffic alert like an accident ahead...
Phone: Dial by name, accept VCards, crazy stuff like this.
Text messages: On screen with easy dismissal. Voice to text on your phone.

I'm confused! Really confused. For a couple years now I have been hearing all sorts of whiny complaints at having to wear glasses to watch 3D TV and now, everyone's all excited about the opportunity to wear glasses to do whatever Google Glass offers. I am completely flummoxed!
Don, I think it's all about multitasking. 3D glasses do not allow me to multitask. When I wear them, I can't read, I can't look at my iPad or computer, can't really do anything else. It's not a problem when I am watching a movie, but it's the main reason I wouldn't watch news, music or prime-time shows in 3D.
Google Glass, on the other hand is designed precisely for multitasking: to complement your normal visual experience with additional info.

I multitask all the time with passive polar 3D glasses. It's a normal activity when editing. My active glasses is in the home theater and I have no need to multitask in that room. No more so than I would sit in a theater and be surfing the internet on my ipad while watching the movie.

Yes they are trained and if they cannot pass the training they do not get to be pilots... Only the best can get through, they do not trust 100 million+ aircraft to people that are not good at it. The average person without any training could be a disaster. I am confident there is a certain percentage of the population that can text and drive and still do it safely (i.e. they know when it is safe), but there is a huge number that fails miserably.
