Just upgraded to Hopper3 after 3 years with hopper2. Old hopper2 was connected to my home network via a ethernet cable (hard wired to 5 port switch connected to Asus Router). Hopper2 worked perfectly with no connection problems.

Installation tech set up new Hopper3 to connect via wifi. I wanted to connect using prior cable. When I connected the ethernet cable to the top port on back of H3 and rebooted the H3 it still connects to wifi instead of hard wire. Looking at internet status in settings shows port not connected. Same results when trying bottom port.

Any suggestions as to how to get the new H3 to recognize the hard wire connection?

I believe you have to disconnect the wireless before it will pickup the wired connection. Try going into the Wireless settings and disconnect that, then see if it doesn't find the wired connection.
