Starz-HD: The Pianist Tonight, possibly not in HD?

The Pianist will be shown tonight on channel 261 at 9:00pm. But the VOOM PG or zap2it.com do not indicate that it will be shown in High Definition. I hope it is. It is a great film.

It is not in HD but at the beginning of the film it stated "HD where available". Starz, how can you premiere the movie, have the HD version and don't show it?

This is good to know. I am planning to call the director of programming on Monday at Starz. I like to ask him why these movies which are available in HD are not being shown in HD in their Starz-HD channel. If you see other movies that fall in the same category, please post.

Starz-HD Alert: John Q Tonight!!

I do not remember if this was shown in HBO-HD or Show-HD, but it will be shown tonight on Starz-HD at 7pm. Excellent movie and expect to see excellent PQ as well.

It does not look like Undisputed, Kate & Leopold, Frida and 8 Mile will be shown in HD.

It is crazy that Starz-HD will premiere Frida and 8 Mile tonight and they are not even in HD. What a dissapointment...

Well, I have to say that this has been the most dissapointed channel that I have seen. After looking at their lineup of movies through 1/16/04 and comparing to what I was originally given, I have to say that this line up of movies is mediocre. Look at all the SD movies and compare to the HD movies. Look at all the movies that should have been in HD and will be only presented in SD:

8 Mile
Frida
Gangs of New York
Reign of Fire
The English Patient
The Jungle Book 2
The Pianist
Undisputed

C'mmon Starz. I know this is you first month of going live but give us more HD movies. This is pathetic to say the least.

Out of 69 movies in January ONLY 20 in HD. That's pathetic (28% of the movies in HD). I just added another movie that should be presented in HD 25th Hour.

20 Movies out of 71 movies in January are HD. Starz-HD needs to get a better list of HD movies for February because right now Cinema 10 has more HD movies than these jokers.
