Today when browsing around when I go into a thread I then use the back feature to go up to the forum. Well now it is not working because the browser history is filled up with facebook connect history. Probably some new feature of VB gone awry...

No changes have been made to the system and FB Connect is built in to vBulletin. I will check the vBulletin support forum and see if others are reporting issues. (FYI all is working well in my tests.)

Of course I am using IE at work, so perhaps it is IE only. Reproduction is go into a forum, read a thread then back to the forum and try to then go back to the forum list. If you look at the browser history it has a bunch of facebook connect history built up.

Here is a screen shot.

Well maybe it was a facebook issue. The problem seems to have gone away when I came back this afternoon.

I've noticed the forward button hasn't worked in quite some time ...IE, this site only. As you go back, it brightens up for a second and back to shaded, like you never went anywhere.

It would be nice if there was a way to turn off the facebook connect "feature" so that the back/forward would work properly. It messes with the browser history.

With almost 30,000 people online a day and no one else having an issue I would say there is a problem with your browser.

I can fix it by logging out of facebook. It is the facebook connect feature. The reason it probably hits me and very few other people is that I have facebook set to always use https. So, the facebook connect does the http then the https (as you can see by the screen shot I posted above). The script does not back out properly. It started when the last update was done. Probably a vbulletin bug that may eventually be fixed.

More investigation... it seems that there was an interaction between no tracking and facebook. It looks like facebook is using its connect to track, and my tracking blocker in ie9 was blocking it. It looks like it is on facebook's side of things, they are doing something to track.

Seeing the exact same behavior here.

It keeps happening to me again. I thought it was a privacy issue or something, but turning everything off does not fix it. It is some sort of IE9 interaction. To fix it, I just hit f5 before I click back on a forum. Refreshing the thread list fixes the browser history.

Well at home and chrome does not have any of the IE issues, the forward and backwards works as expected. IE is needed for work, so I just will suffer when I read SGuys at work.

Was having the same thing happen here using Opera. Had to click a minimum of two times (some times many more!) to back up a page. It went away for a while, and then came back, and finally I went searching to see if other Opera users had the same problem on other sites. Got lucky and found a fix (called a facebook blocker):
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/facebook-blocker/?display=en

Works like a charm, have had no problems since. A quick search shows that there are facebook blockers for IE (as well as other browsers) so you might want to check one out and see if it helps.

EDIT: The problem with the back button only happened here and a few other sites, but since I am here a lot, it was especially frustrating!

I installed chrome at work so using it just for SatGuys at work. The back and forward button work on chrome. It is probably just one of those browser incompatibilities.
