After trying several different ways to get KFTL San Francisco in on 72 West, I finally got it in tonight..

The Fortec Dynamic Receiver has a problem with low Symbolrates, which KFTL is (1666)..When trying to add or edit in the transponder in regular fashion, I would always get the "Invalid Parameter" error code, though I would get a great signal on the 11891/H/1666 transponder..

What I finally did was take one of the other 72W TP's that had no signal, and deleted it, then added the KFTL TP..While It still showed "Invalid Parameter", I would go to the Manual "Add Channel" screen and the KFTL TP would show up as one of the choices..I then added the Audio/Video PID numbers, and The channel finally shows up..

I love FTA..very challenging:rolleyes:

Its possible someone in another thread may have told me how to do this and I just now figured it out..To that person..Thanks a bunch!

Did it show up as service 1?

And have you every tried using power scan, 4meg and detail and power scan a small segment of the band that KFTL is in?

MikeLib

Have you ever hit the sat button twice to pick the satellite and got the arrows over the stations??

I think it has to do with the low symbol rate. There's been threads on the Merc II and low symbol rates showing up as a glitch. Its one of those weird things that makes FTA great :)

Thats right:
There had been another thread in April about KFTL and the Low symbolrate on the Fortec Merc II/Dynamic was brought up at that time..I just added it as KFTLCA28. That is how it comes up on the screen..

Tim, That one's always been a pain for me to get. Had trouble on the Dynamic but as you did, I finally got it. The Sathawk doesn't like it either. It takes a little work locking some of them in....Blind

I see on lyngsat lots of channels I'm not getting because of these little tricks you have to perform to get your receiver to pull in these signals. Too bad there aren't easier ways to get them.

I guess some of us will never be able to figure out how to get some of our receivers to work just right.

Oh, well!!! Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
