I have always disliked this idiot because he has always thought HE was bigger than the players and the league itself. And I am glad to see the NBA put their foot down with some of the referees that think THEY are there show instead of the players....now if ONLY the MLB can do something about the BLIND umpires and there COULD be peace in the sports world.:D

I agree. This guy was too arrogant and needed to be suspended. I doubt that they will do the same in MLB but those umpires need some a$$ whooping too. :)

Did you see that thing on HBO about him and his ump brother and daddy. You could tell in that piece what an arrogant, self-centered, pompous, blowhard this guy is. Now all Stern has to do is get rid of Steve Javie and the incompetent Violet Palmer and maybe the league will be better.

They also should go to the international trapezoid lane, I think that would make the game much more exciting.

I sure would love the NFL to hire full time refs as NFL employees so maybe just maybe games would be called in a fair way. Also I never liked the fact that the head ref has the job of overturning bad calls. The more he overturns calls the more he looks ummm bad at his job so that kinda screams conflict of internet don't you think.

Stern is an arrogant prick that doesnt belong in the game anymore. At the beginning of the season he encouraged calling technical fouls for people looking at officials the wrong way. Now what does he expect?

He did, BUT that just added gasoline to the fire of this idiot Crawford and as House said, Javie....I personally think Stern has done a GREAT job with the NBA. He has had some bumping decisions, but mostly good ones. He to me, outside of the retired Paul Tagliabue from the NFL, Stern has been the 2nd most reliable of all the commissioners.

I'm sorry, but any official in a game who is challenging a player to a fight unprovoked should be ejected and suspended.

This is coming from a Mav's fan yall.... :)

I think what I read on Bill Simmons page 2 today is a really good read. He was going through his list of players for the MVP award and then got to Tim Duncan and you should read what he said at the bottom on it:

After 850 regular-season and playoff games, three 100-game seasons and more than 32,000 minutes logged on his odometer, he's not the player he was five years ago. But you know what? In a weird way, he's just as effective. He's a smarter defender and a much better leader, he knows how to pick his spots, he's insanely competitive and one of the most unexpectedly entertaining players to see in person for anyone who gives a crap about basketball. Nobody communicates with his teammates as well, nobody commands more respect, and there's never a second when you forget he's out there. There's not another player in the league quite like him. By the way, I seriously considered giving him the MVP for helping to rid the world of Joey Crawford last weekend. So long, Joey. Don't forget to downgrade from first class to coach on your flight back to hell

OUCH!!!!

Here
I was utterly shocked when watching sportscenter the other day and seeing that footage. Crawford got what he deserved, even the Commish said this isn't the first time he talked to him about behaviour like this.
