Forced 811 upgrade questions

what really has me PO'd about the whole thing was when I purchased the 811 I was told it would be completely software upgradeable. why could they not upgrade mpeg2 to mpeg4?

No. Because it's not a software issue. The MPEG decoder is hardware. You cannot upgrade the hardware with software. For example, Windows is software upgradable. You can download service packs. Your video card is not. You can't upgrade the power and functions of your video card with a software patch.

I feel they just are trying to upgrade all to leased receivers. income from all!
