Fortec Ultra Electonic Program Guide

I have a 2004 model FTA Fortec Ultra and can't get any info off the electronic program guide. The manual with the receiver shows that you can go the electronic program guide and view all the stations on a particular sat and it should show the time of the program and list the name of the program that is showing. I have never been able to do this with my receiver. It only shows the station number, and also when I use the up and down buttons to change channels while in this electronic program guide mode, it doesn't move from one channel to another. In other words, when you push the channel up or down it jumps two or three channels at every click of the button, instead of moving one channel at a time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EPG doesnt work here in the US/Canada

only in Europe

Not many satellites have an EPG in this country, mainly used in Europe..... If you use a DBS LNB for the FTA channels on the Dish/E. Vu satellites you may see some EPG info.
