Because Voom did not produce enough programming for the number of "channels."

Back to Super bowl, what is the point of carrying the 4K broadcast?
Mark Cuban Does have a point ....DIRECTV had the same exact restrictions. It wasn't just a DISH thing. I am told YouTube TV had the same restriction as well. But I don't have YouTube TV.
As far as them calling it 4K, personally I think it should be illegal to call anything 4K that is not really 4K. I do not consider 4K to be 4K when it is just a 1080P signal upconverted. What we are really seeing is what true HD could look like without all the compression.
I remember I was with Mark Cuban once and he asked me if I ever saw what real HD looked like and then explained to me the only pure HD is what you will ever see coming directly off the camera, pure uncompressed. Once its ingested he said it is "ruined" by the compression needed just to store it. And when its broadcast the bit rate it is sent at is a tiny fraction of what the rigional bitrate was coming off the camera. So if we think this looks good, imagine seeing it in its pure form.
I ended up watching on Peacock on my Apple TV as it was in (cough cough) 4K and had Dolby Atmos. I first tried watching on my Android TV with the Peacock app and while it was listed as 4K with Dolby Atmos the Android Peacock app was not passing along the Atmos Sound. I also checked out DISH's version but that was just in normal 5.1 audio. So I watched via the Apple TV just to get the atmos sound. I did find it interesting that on Peacock inserted our local Hartford Commercials during the game.
Game? I am not big into Football (or Sports for that matter) but I think the Patriots forgot to show up last night. Congrats to the Seahawks. I forgot to print out the pools from my office so hopefully i go in today and there is some money waiting for me.![]()
