I have an Superdish lnb configuration Type 2 set for 105 and plan to dismount the FSS stacked lnb (loose 2 screws) to receive a linear fta sat.

CW800 can deal with DP circular lnb as long as in "Antenna Setting "the lnb type is set in OCS-DP and LOF to 11250.

Since this is a linear lnb from a Superdish, should the Äntena setting shoul be the same like DP lnbs or should I change the LOF to 10750? Thanks.

If you change it to 10750 you will only receive vertical polarity signals usually

Does the CW800 have a legit blind scan? If so, then you might be able to change to 13850 and scan V only....

or keep the LNB LO at 10750 and if you can change the frequency range to blind scan from 11700-12200 to 11700-12900 then it would work.

OK the thing is that the cw800 cand deal with DP lnbs as long as you go to "Antenna Setting" and configure the "type of lnb" you are going to use. It let you select between "normal" and "OCS-DP" Since this is a DP lnb you select the second option. Also it request you to select the "lnb frequency " , this means the LOF frequency. DP circular works in 11250 with the CW800. But this is an FSS original DN, I only have doubt of the LOF frequency of this lnb.

Today I tested this FSS stacked lnb in a 5.5 feet diam. dish. I set the skew like the one that is working but didn't work. First I set the LOF to 10750, then in lnb type I selected "OCS-DP," it didn't work. I selected "Normal" and didn't work I skewed the lnb all around without any result. I also conected a DP34 to see if this lnb work with this switch, but no signal also.

I would like to know if this lnb works alone or should I use it with the DP34. Any comments will be appreciated.

I have several used and new 105 FSS lnb's if anybody is interested in buying them for cheap. I have no use for them.

I've noticed that inside this lnb there is a di-electric . Should I take that di-electric out in order to make it work in a FTA linear sat?

Yes, it is the right one. Here are some picture for you to see it. By the way I plan to use it in a Asure Shine 5.5' diam dish. Do the elliptical shape would degrade performance? Should I replace the feedhorn for a C-120 round one ? In the third picture you will notice the di-electric inside the feedhorn.

I don't know what the heck that feedhorn is, but it doesn't really match this picture of the 118.75°/119° feedhorn from DishNetwork.
There is a re-point kit for the SuperDishes, though. But , from the photos, the assembly doesn't have that long neck.

More pix on Sadoun's web site here and over here.

And, as Iceberg noted, the 118.75° is circular, but with a 10750 LO.
(and bandstacked of course, and with it's own connector)

That is the original FSS lnb it came with the other two lnb that came in the frame used to hold them, 1 DP dual lnb, 1 DBS lnb with a pencil shape feedhorn which goes side by side od the FSS with the same di-electric but in a 45 degrees position and the one I showed you in pictures. I also was wondering why it has a di-electric inside like the ROC CST-11G used to receive 119 and 118.7 at the same time. I know that by removing the di-electric from this ROC lnb you convert it to a linear one.

Here are the pictures of the type 2 configuration for receiving 105, 110 and 119 . In the third picture you can see the di-electric inside the feedhorn of the FSS. The fourth picture is the DBS lnb with a pencil shape feedhorn. The last picture shows the picture of the FSS lnb alone with an lnb holder from a 5.5 'Azure Shine antenna where I plan to use it.

Comments are welcome.

From the front, that LNB looks like the one in the Dish 1000+ that picks up 118.7, but with the housing removed. The 1000+ setup, however, doesn't have any LNB slot for 105. It just has slots for 110 and 129. Very peculiar, indeed! ;)

This has stimulated my interest so I looked up the installation Pdf on line and see a standard-sized round LNBF for 110, but I then found a hard copy of the superdish installation manual and on page 7 it shows this "lipstick" LNBF for 110. The diagram in the hard copy manual matches the pictures posted by the OP.

So what this boils down to is that Dish actually produced two different type 2 setups and there are two different manuals.

There were 2 Superdish setups

105/110/119 which is what is posted above (110 being the pencil LNB and 119 being an island)
110/119/121 which 119/121 were together and 110 was the "island"

There was a type 1 and type 2 of each of them. The 105 type 2 in the hard copy that I have appears to have a fiberglass dish, but the one with a regular sized 110 LNBF has a metal dish. The picture of the one in the online manual is here http://www.satelliteone.com/support-files/SuperDISH_Installation_Instruction_Manual.pdf. The 121 type 2 in my hard copy also has a "lipstick" LNBF but for 119.

So it appears that if the dish was fiberglass then it will have the "lipstick" in the middle, and was referred to as type 2.

Here's the pictures
