I have used the DMS 4 port DISEqC switch and had it "cease" in the cold several times. Often it would take a few seconds to switch but sometimes not switch at all. I switched to a Chieta and no problems since.
I have the switch mounted in a weather proof box with sealed electrical connectors to run the cables in and out. Keeps everything nice and dry. Temps can get to -40F here sometimes.

In my setup, all outdoors for the simple reason(s) that, I only have to run one coax in to the house (for now) and also if one fails from getting wet/corroded, it's cheaper to replace it than run 5 separate runs of cable (more later). With a bit of weatherproofing or just some shelter to keep the rain from falling directly on it, it'll probably last for years. So far it's been outside more than 2 years with no ill effects.
