Those amazing 'Furious 7' cars? This man built them.....The seventh installment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise is nearly upon us. Dennis McCarthy, who has wrangled cars for the series since 2006's "Tokyo Drift," tells us how he pulled together the amazing rides for this latest film. http://www.cnet.com/news/fast-furious-7-dennis-mccarthy-interview/#ftag=YHF65cbda0
Dennis McCarthy has one of those professions that many would classify as a dream job. McCarthy is car coordinator for the "Fast & Furious" films. Basically, he's the guy who spends his days buying, modifying and testing the amazing pieces of machinery that are, in many ways, the real stars of the high-octane franchise. This will be McCarthy's fourth film in the series, since signing on to wrangle cars for 2006's "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift." That film required a spread of tasty imports, cars not available here in the US. His solution? Hop on a plane -- and bring the corporate card.

'Furious 7': A Surprise Ending https://celebrity.yahoo.com/news/furious-7-surprise-ending-164036804.html
The "Fast & Furious" movies are known for great cliffhanger endings, but the latest, "Furious 7," changes direction.Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker and Ludacris in ‘Furious 7’Tyrese Gibson, who returns as Roman in the latest installment, revealed on Friday's Access Hollywood Live that end will bring on the tears instead of the shock.

Jason Statham on 'Furious 7' fight with The Rock: 'He could take your head off' https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/jason-statham-furious-7-fight-232000390.html
Jason Statham is intimidating.I mean, that's sort of obvious. He's built a career on it. But part of what I find so interesting about him onscreen has been his resolute refusal to vanish into roles. Jason Statham is one of those movie stars who is a movie star for being a heightened version of himself, and he knows that's his brand, and he absolutely steers into it with the choices he makes. This year, audiences are going to see two radically different versions of Statham onscreen. In Paul Feig's clever and rowdy "Spy," Statham is a perpetually livid CIA agent who cannot believe the agency would send Melissa McCarthy's character into the field when he's available for the job. It's a great fit for him, and his mounting incredulity combined with his near-manic need to tell McCarthy how awesome he is and his surprisingly nimble way with a pratfall make it a stand-out for him, something that feels new.But what made it for me? What made my personal experience with "Spy" work so well? I'll explain it the way I explained it to him, but it involves discussing the opening images of this weekend's "Furious 7." If you'd rather not know that, just skip down to the second question and answer and take it from there. Just know that the reason I sat down with him was to talk about this mega-sequel and his role in it, and I think we had a fairly great conversation. He certainly plays a key role in this film, and if I were using the Sergio Leone archetype of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly in this film, I'd say that Jason Statham is the Ugly.I just don't know if I'd make that comparison sitting across from him, because, like I said… intimidating.

Why 'Furious 7' is a bad movie with an all-time tearjerker ending you can't miss https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/why-furious-7-bad-movie-034200203.html
"Furious 7" has finally hit theaters across the nation and we think some moviegoers are in for a surprise. After the first hour or so, some viewers will stop and think to themselves, "Wait, why is this flick getting so much hype, again?" Yes, this is when we arrive at the dirty secret of the latest installment in the "Fast and Furious" franchise; it's actually the worst movie of the post-"Tokyo Drift"/Vin Diesel-less era. Before you immediately jump to the comments section to protest, please note this isn't click bait masking as contrarian opinion just to get fans all riled up. Sadly, it's the truth, but with one big caveat, the last 10 minutes or so of the picture will simply knock you out. Let's explore why, shall we?[Note: There are some spoilers from "Furious 7" ahead. If you don't want to know plot points for the main storyline stop here. The ending, however, is not spoiled.]

Furious 7 among the biggest opens in history
"Furious 7" last night did an estimated $67.3 million in business last night and estimates are now that the movie will do between $135 million and $150 million for its opening weekend, which would be one of the ten biggest movie opens of all-time.The open is up 74% at the same point as Fast 6.Dwayne Johnson and Ronda Rousey are among the ensemble cast for the movie. http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-...-furious-7-among-the-biggest-opens-in-history ...............................Box Office: ‘Furious 7? Destroys Records With $143.6 Million Debut https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/box-office-furious-7-destroys-records-143-6-134128462.html
“Furious 7? raced to the top of the domestic box office, picking up a massive $143.6 million in its opening weekend. That establishes a new high-water mark for the month of April, blowing past the $95 million debut of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” as well as marks the highest grossing kick-off for any film in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. It also ranks ninth among the top ten openings in history.Audiences flocked to see star Paul Walker in one of his final roles. The actor died in a 2013 car crash at the age of 40 and his work on the film was completed by using digital technology and a series of stand-ins.Universal Pictures spared no expense in bringing the latest chapter in the fast cars and gravity-defying-stunts series to the big screen, shelling out $190 million on the production. It unspooled in 4,003 North American theaters including Imax and premium large format screens.Foreign numbers have yet to be released, but they promise to be steroidal. Internationally, the film rolled out across 10,500 screens in 63 territories. With an A CinemaScore and strong reviews, “Furious 7? could be one of the few modern blockbusters that hangs in for more than a few weeks. The month of April is lean on blockbuster fare and “Furious 7? won’t get serious competition until “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” debuts on May 1.

I saw the movie Thursday night. It was full of crazy over the top stunts and action sequences... So far over the top, yet somehow a blast to watch. I really enjoyed it, even though it was just crazy what they tried to pass off as something that might be able to be done...

It was a good action movie, like they all have been. They really went above and beyond on the believability factor with the stunts this time. Nice tribute to Paul Walker at the end, you could tell they had to redo the script, the story was kind of all over the place, but still an enjoyable thrill ride.

Furious 7 Deleted Scene: Vin Diesel Defends His Family In A Rare Quiet Moment http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Furi...fends-His-Family-Rare-Quiet-Moment-82017.html
If you’re one of the millions who have watched the Fast & Furious movies over the years, you’re well aware that for Vin Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto, nothing is more important than the ragtag group of friends he calls his "family." In a new deleted scene from the latest chapter, Furious 7, Dom tries to communicate just what that means to franchise newcomer Nathalie Emmanuel, in his true gruff, papa bear fashion. This deleted scene from MTV is something of an anomaly for balls-to-the-wall Furious 7, as it is a rather small, quiet moment. In relatively short order, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) will throw down with MMA champ Ronda Rousey, and Dom and BFF Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) will just a ludicrously expensive automobile from building to building to building. However, in this scene, it’s just two people talking. In the grand scheme of things, you can see why this was excised for pacing reasons and to save space in an already 137-minute movie, but it’s a nice moment on its own. Diesel is intense, and he really drives home Dom’s fierce devotion to his family, that he’s not going to let anything happen to them or anyone put them at risk without a damn good reason, and that he doesn’t trust this newjack, at not until she proves herself as a worthy addition to the clan. The billion-dollar-plus earning Furious 7 is currently available digitally, and hits Blu-ray next Tuesday, September 15..

Why Fast & Furious 6 And 7 Featured Way Less Of One Character http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-Fast-Furious-6-7-Featured-Way-Less-One-Character-82877.html
The Fast and Furious movies seem to only be getting bigger as time goes on. Bigger stunts, bigger dollars, and bigger stars have been hallmarks of the latter movies in the series. This made the fact that one actor’s role seems to have been shrinking recently seem odd. As it turns out, it’s been other acting obligations that have kept Jordana Brewster’s role smaller in the last couple of films.Speaking with Uproxx in advance of Furious 7’s release on Blu-ray and DVD, Brewster revealed that she misses the action scenes she got to do in Fast Five, and that it was due to her TV series obligations that she wasn’t able to do as much with the last couple films. She explained,
