Gigabit Service coming to the boonies of NW S.C

Got a email from Blue Ridge electric co-op today, entered my address and says May of 2021 for me! I live half way between here and nowhere.

We too are supposed to have it from Blue Ridge next year. They have had the approval(sorta) since 2018. They are waiting for some kind of study to complete since we live on/near Cherokee Indian land. ...but supposed to finally hook up the final drops next year. We will see.

From what I understand a few areas of Pickens already have it. I am really suprised that the fiber company is way down in Abbieville.

We have it in lots of parts of this county, but just not here in this part yet. If they delay again next year I will sure give Starlink a try. Of course that is, if all goes well with Starlink and it makes it this low by next year like they say.

I am fine the way I am, I have charter 200 mbit service now, but if the price is right, I will take the gigabit. My upload sucks with charter.
