OK here is another use of an Old C-BAND DISH. On Rocket City Rednecks on Nat Geo episode number 7 they build a radio telescope using a parabolic hole dug in the dirt. Above it they suspend a C-band dish and in the bottom of the hole they use a feedhorn from a DBS dish in a coffee can to pick up what seems to be the Crab Nebula and other star clusters in that area. Oh BTW these guys work for NASA in Alabama and you can see the Rocket that is outside of the HQ from where they did the radio telescope.
