got a mailer from dish

the mailer i got said i was eligible for a free duo dvr upgrade.

I have a 622, i figured cool, let me call and see what it is

csr said it would eithe rbe a 622 or a 722 depending on what was on the truck

wheres the upgrade? isnt the 722 just a 622 with a larger hd?

was really hoping it might be a 922, but knew better

I got the same card yesterday. I almost got excited about replacing my 722k with another 722k, or a 622!

922 won't be free on upgrades for a while since it just came out.

I got one too but I already have a 625 (that's all I have) so I don't see why I was receiving the postcard. It said nothing about HD

Ditto with the mailer here (I'm 18 months into a 24 month commitment). My notice said nothing about HD either.

The timing was nice. I wanted to go HD for Le Tour and the World Cup. So I called, got a painless upgrade from 625 to the 722k receiver for "free" (24 month commitment). I had dropped the coverage plan a while ago, but signed back up, so the install (dish and receiver) is only $15.

The installation is tomorrow. I'm going to make sure it is a 722k, as I believe I've read in another thread about the delivery being a 622 instead. Smaller hard drive and maybe something about a second OTA tuner? I get most of my locals using an indoor antenna so maybe that could come in handy.

You could get a 622 or 722 since both have an OTA tuner built in. If you get the 722K then you need to get the OTA tuner for $30.
